Membership year is from January 1 to December 31 for Mildura-Alcheringa Pony Club (MAPC) and PCV (Pony Club Victoria).
Membership is open to riders under 26 years, with an Adult category being trialled for over 25 year old riders. There is no minimum age limit however school age is usual.
MAPC requires riders to be able to walk and trot independently in an enclosed area, and be riding a suitable pony club mount that has basic education, and experience, and is safe and reliable, and well-behaved among other horses.
To apply for membership to the Mildura-Alcheringa Pony Club, an application for the rider and their adult supporter/s must be completed online and submitted for consideration by the Committee, along with the specific joining fee.
Membership must be accepted at a committee meeting (second Tuesday each month) for endorsement as a club member.
Acceptance into the club is not automatic and at times may be based on the number of members currently financial within the club.
MAPC relies on parental support and the success of MAPC is dependent on families of pony club members all being able to contribute in some way.
Parents must be willing and prepared to give a minimum of 30 hours of service each year: included in these hours is mandatory assistance at 2 club competitions/ events each year. There are a variety of jobs to do, many of which do not need horse experience: such as working bees, set up for rallies and events, and helping with delegated tasks such as kiosk at events.
Parents and guardians who accompany junior riders to rallies are required to apply for Adult Supporter membership of MAPC.
An adult supporter application must accompany each application for riders under 18 years. There is currently no fee for Adult Supporter membership of MAPC. Adult supporters are required to hold a Working With Children Check as part of their membership.
